After having some slightly difficult service experiences in Bergen restaurants this was so so so nice. They’re completely lovely and the pizza is super interesting and delicious! We were probably a bit of an annoying group (four adults, 3 year old and two small dogs) but they genuinely couldn’t have been more accommodating. Pizza highlights: definitely mushroom sesame and bonito flakes and the prawn and bisque. Tasted like ceviche on a pizza. It’s brave to do fun things with pizza and they nailed it
At first, we had a one-star experience here. We ordered pizzas and after 1.5 hours of waiting, they still hadn't been brought to our table. We then found out, that through a chain of unfavorable circumstances, our pizzas were given to someone else, and the staff forgot about us. It was very busy that evening, so this could happen. We were then told to get our pizza immediately next. Unfortunately, it was still a 20 minutes wait. But we didn't have any more time, as there was a concert waiting for us across the street, and we had already missed the first band entirely. So we wanted to get our money back. However, the chargeback to the credit card somehow didn't work, and we did not want the cash refund they offered because we could not use the cash. As a solution, we were told to get the pizzas the next day. We went back to the Hoggorm 24 hours later. We received a very friendly welcome there, and we got the pizzas straight away. The entire staff was VERY helpful, treated us excellently and provided us with various extras, which we are highly appreciated. After all, we can highly recommend this place, because the pizza there is extremely tasty, and the music is great. In a year we are back on vacation in Bergen, and we will definitely come back here, too!
Vegan pizza. Found this place via Google Maps. It was full and we got the last table. Always a good sign. One option for vegan pizza and we started with padron peppers in a sesame and soy sauce. Service was slow and we had to keep asking to be served, but they were busy. Worked out to be equivalent of £75 for the starter, 2 pizzas, house wine and 2 small beers. A tad on the expensive side.
This place has limited seating, so we got our order to go, but the vegan spicy aubergine pizza was delicious! We would definitely recommend stopping in for this pizza, if you're in the Bergen area. The atmosphere felt like a small beer garden, but was fairly busy on the day we visited. Would love to come back when it isn't as busy to enjoy some beer with a pizza!
Really good pizza. But be aware that coke price is 70kr per small bottle. Nice atmosphere.
Best pizza in Norway! The pies speak for themselves–– perfect thin crust, a variety of innovative toppings, three incredible sauces to squeeze on top–– but it's the great wine selection (the wonderful Peter knows his $%#@!) and service (unflappable Laura runs a wonderful restaurant, Paul's got a memory like a steel trap) that makes this place bar none.
Will take anywhere from 10-20 minutes for them to take your order and another 30 minutes if not super busy to receive your pizza. Been here several times and surprisingly consistent in that regard (started timing to see if I was crazy). They are as chilled and laid back as their music selection. Music is very tasteful and varied, great rock music. The pepperoni pizza is one of my favorite pizzas by far in Bergen, the other pizzas are fine. The habanero sauce is something I didn’t think I’d enjoy so much on pizza, if you like spicy it’s worth the try, super delicious and spicy. Cost is above average, should be better service I personally think for the prices you’re paying. It’s a fun place to try out though, worth that much at least.
Great food. It's usually quite crowded so it takes a while until it gets to you. Decent selection of pizzas, with both red and white options. All of them are thin crust, unlike most pizza places in Bergen. Some good options for side dishes, though they're a bit pricey in comparison to the pizzas.
